No, not the Super Smash Bros. game mod. The Project M I'm talking about is a new Magic: The Gathering mobile game from Wizards of the Coast and Netmarble Games. Check out the teaser trailer:

Magic fans will likely recognize the artwork of such classic cards as Shivan Dragon, Shock, and Animate Dead. Planeswalkers Chandra Nalaar, Liliana Vess, and Ajani Goldmane also appear to be playable characters.

Netmarble has a history of creating popular and highly-rated mobile games, such as Lineage 2: Revolution, Marvel Future Fight, and Guild of Honor. And since Wizards stated they'd be focusing heavily on digital products, this seems like a perfect match for both companies.

Of course, there are still many questions left to be answered. No official statement has been made on gameplay, or even what style of game Project M is. Based on footage from the trailer, many fans suspect this will be a multiplayer online battle arena game, or MOBA, similar to League of Legends or Smite.

So it appears Project M isn't some sort of secret government project (as far as we know). But there's still much left to be discovered. We'll cover it as more news comes out.
