Meet your 2019 Master's division World Champion: Australia's Henry Brand!!

In between him and the World title was 2016 World Champion Shintaro Ito and his Blacephalon GX deck. But Henry was not outgunned, he is an accomplished player in his own right. Henry managed to take down Shintaro in two games in the finals. Being the first Australian to win Worlds Championships is an exclamation point on an incredible 2019 season for Henry. He won Perth Regionals and lost in the Finals of Sydney Regionals. He Top 8'd Oceania Internationals and won the New Zealand Special Event. And after this weekend, he got to add the most coveted trophy to his mantle.

Henry's Mewtwo and Mew GX deck was the first foray of the incredible card in tournament play, and oh boy did it impress. The toolbox Henry constructed around Mew and Mewtwo GX give the powerful Psychic pokemon access to all sorts of Attacks from his 8 1 of GX's which included Reshiram and Charizard GX, Espeon and Deoxys GX, and Magcargo GX. Welder served as the main consistency engine in the deck.

Worlds 2020 will be taking place in London next year, better get to work qualifying!
